This blog is for the purpose of creating conversation space regarding the  Great Commission itself as it applies to Kentucky Baptist life and sharing the stories of how Kentucky Baptists are involved in sharing the Good News. We’ll examine how Kentucky Baptists are presently at work in seeking to effectively share the Gospel, explore ways to do things better and, in general, see what the Lord might show us all as we focus our attention on our missions.

The bloggers are four staff members from the Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Board:

Eric Allen, Mission Service and Ministries director

Eric brings more than 20 years of ministerial experience to his position. He desires to see believers reach their full potential by answering God’s call to use their spiritual gifts and talents in mission service. Eric wants to make a difference in Kentucky by encouraging and equipping churches to share the gospel in word and action through community outreach ministries. He also gives leadership to Supervision Training, Hunger Funds distribution, and Prayer Strategies.

Billy Compton, executive associate for Cooperative Program and Resources

Billy Compton has pastored churches in Kentucky since 1966, and currently serves as the KBC’s executive associate for Cooperative Program and resources. He is a graduate of Campbellsville University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary. He has previously pastored at Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Calvary Baptist Church in Glasgow, Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green, and First Baptist Church in Mt. Washington.

Robert Reeves, director of communications

As director of the Communications Department, Robert oversees the department’s work in the areas of public relations, media relations, annual meeting planning, Web site design and maintenance, church media libraries and graphic design. A former reporter and editor, Robert’s previous denominational work included serving as the communications director for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home (a South Carolina Baptist Convention agency) and the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children.

Coy Webb, Baptist Men on Missions director

Coy Webb is responsible for overseeing the missions and ministries of the Baptist Men on Missions Dept. A former Kentucky pastor, he now oversees such missions programs as disaster relief and Kentucky Changers. He has a heart for missions and ministries and can be frequently found doing hands-on ministry himself through missions projects in Kentucky and around the world.
